One McDonald’s Every Day

By John Maday, Managing Editor Drovers

No, this article isn’t about someone eating at McDonald’s every day, instead, the headline refers to the company’s growth plans in China. According to a report from Bloomberg News, McDonald’s plans to open, on average, one new store per day in China over the next three to four years. And even at that growth rate, the chain is playing catch-up with competitor Yum! Brands. Quoted in the article, McDonald’s president for Asia Peter Rodwell says the company currently is opening one restaurant every other day.
