I will be flying to Pennsylvania this weekend for the dispersal sale of the North American Dunlouise cowherd. These are old-style, 100% Scottish-bred cows – with a look that you simply will not find anywhere else in North America. We have used a couple of bulls out of this herd in the PCC program – with good results. We will have two outstanding sons of the Dunlouise Jipsey Earl bull in our upcoming sale in Burlington, Colorado.
I will be meeting up with Brandon Overdorff, who is a PCC Cooperative Producer (CP) in Pennsylvania. I want to get a firsthand look at this cowherd before it is dispersed. We are also hoping we will be able to purchase a few top-end cows from this unique herd. This may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to invest in old-style genetics of this type. I hope to let you know how we got along in next week’s PCC Update.
